Double-Overtime Tie
Union, N.J. (9/6/09) - Sophomore Danielle Esposito
(Holmdel, N.J.) tied things up early in the second half,
but that would be the last of scoring for the following 60 minutes
as the Kean University women's soccer team battled to a 1-1
double-overtime tie with visiting Oneonta State in the Cougar
Classic Sunday afternoon.
Oneonta (1-0-1) struck first as sophomore Jenna McCarey
(Middletown, N.Y.) netted the game's first goal off an assist
from junior Caitlin Burke (Manorville, N.Y.) in the
38th minute.
Esposito (pictured right) then tied things up at 50:17 as she
deflected junior Lara Kaminski's (Rahway, N.J.)
shot into the net.
Junior Leandra Russo (Galloway, N.J.) tallied
10 saves for the Cougars (1-1-1) while freshman Jamie Chyat
(Staten Island, N.Y.) countered with seven in the tie.

be the game-winner in the 70th minute to give Muhlenberg
College their first win of the season, defeating St. Joseph's
