Lancaster, Pa. (11/18/11) – Sophomore
guard Michael Burton scored a game-high 21 points,
but it was not enough as Oneonta State defeated Kean University,
78-58, Friday evening at the Franklin & Marshall Rotary Tip-Off
Tournament.
With the loss the Cougars (1-1) will face Neumann University in
the consolation matchup on Saturday at 6 p.m.
The Cougars and Red Dragons played a close first half, with
neither team leading by more than six points. But it was in
the second half that Oneonta found a way to widen the gap, using an
18-9 run over the first 10 minutes of the period to take a 15 point
lead (59-44).
Senior Leigh Keenan added 12 points in the
loss.
