Union, N.J. (2/21/16) – The College at Brockport completed a sweep of two ranked teams at Jim Hynes Stadium by blanking the Kean University baseball team by the final of 5-0.

Earlier in the day, Brockport defeated #39 Stevens Institute of Technology by the final of 7-5.

The loss drops #5/6 Kean to 1-2, the first time since 2008 that they opened up a season with that record.

Senior Ryan Reitmeyer and junior Tyler Heisch collected all of Kean's hits as each had multi-hit days.  Reitmeyer (pictured left) also had the only extra-base hit of the day, a double.

The Golden Eagles (2-0) got all they would need in two frames as they put up a three spot in the fifth and added insurance with two more in the seventh.  In the fifth a walk and two singles to start the inning helped to set up a bases loaded wild pitch, an RBI groundout and an RBI single for the 3-0 advantage. 

RBI singles from Brett Sanders and Chris Davis in the seventh sealed the win.

Southpaw Christopher Hess suffered the loss for the Cougars after allowing three runs and five hits with four walks in five plus innings.  Austin Spindler earned the win with six shutout innings.

Kean returns to action on Friday when they host SUNY College at Old Westbury at 2:30 p.m.
