Union, N.J. (4/7/19) – The Kean University baseball team scored six unanswered runs late to overcome a 3-2 deficit and top Stockton University by the final of 8-3 on Sunday afternoon.
Offensively Conner DeForge and Mike Perone Jr. each collected three RBI as Perone was 3-for-4 with two doubles. Derek Walker was 3-for-3 on the day.
Kean (17-9, 4-2 NJAC) took the lead for good as Perone tied things up with a two out, RBI single, scoring Brian Cole who reached on a double. DeForge gave the Cougars the lead for good with a two RBI double one batter later.
Nick Polizzano added insurance in the seventh with a sacrifice and Perone and DeForge teamed up again in the eighth for two more with an RBI each.
RJ Jobin (2-0) earned the win in relief after tossing three and two third innings of scoreless, hitless ball. Starter Christopher Rossi held the Ospreys (13-7, 3-3 NJAC) to just four hits on the day along with three earned runs.
Kean will square off against SUNY Oneonta on Tuesday in a newly added non-conference matchup.
