Danbury, Conn. (2/25/23) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team suffered a 13-2 defeat in their season opener on Saturday afternoon at Western Connecticut State University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

In bitter cold and snowy conditions, the Wolves (1-0) used a strong first quarter to jump out to a 5-0 lead.  After a scoreless second period, the Wolves added five more in the third quarter.  Kean (0-1) erased the shutout in the fourth as Amanda Brzoska netted the season's first goal.  Kylie Giordano closed out the scoring later in the quarter.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Nicole Peters made nine stops in goal while facing 27 shots.
