Galloway, N.J. (4/29/25) – The Kean University softball team suffered a 6-1 loss to #4 Stockton University in the first round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference tournament on Tuesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Both teams were held scoreless through the first two innings, but with two outs in the third, the Ospreys connected on back-to-back doubles to push across the game's first run. A pinch-hit single and Kean miscue added another for a 2-0 deficit.
Stockton added to their lead in the fifth with a three-spot. The Ospreys loaded the bases with no outs on two singles and a walk and pushed across a single run after being hit-by-a-pitch. One batter later, a two RBI single pushed the advantage out to five.
Kean scratched across a run in the sixth with some small ball. Andee Perseponko worked a leadoff walk and moved to third on a sacrifice. Maya Thompson followed with an RBI single.
The Ospreys added insurance in the sixth with an unearned run.
