Eastlake, Ohio (5/30/25) – The Kean University baseball team suffered a 6-4 defeat to Endicott College on Friday morning in the opening round of the Division III World Series.
Kean (40-10) will face top seeded Johns Hopkins University (44-4) in the elimination bracket. The Blue Jays lost to #8 Messiah College, 16-5 on Friday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Cougars scratched across a single run in top of the first was Dominic Masino worked a leadoff walk and moved to third on a sacrifice from Kyle Adorno. Three batters later, Dan Reistle singled him home for the game's first run.
Kean made it 2-0 in the second after Justin Teixeira and Nick Sellari connected on one out singles. Later with two outs, Adorno found the gap for an RBI single.
The Gulls (44-4) put one on the board in the second with a two out, RBI single from Zach Stephenson.
Brett Hilsheimer connected for Kean's first homer of the NCAA postseason, a solo shot in the third to give the Cougars a 3-1 advantage.
Endicott tied it up in the same frame as John Mulready doubled in the gap, scoring two.
The Gulls took the lead in the fourth as Joey Frammartino lofted a two run homerun.
Endicott added one more in the eighth, a solo shot from Kyle Grabowski.
The Cougars were able to add one in their last at-bat, as Adorno registered an RBI groundout.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Adorno was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
