Darnel Mangan Sr. joins the football staff for his first season.
Mangan served on the sprint football staff at Division II Caldwell University for the last three seasons (2019-2017).
Mangan served as the wide receivers and slot backs coach during the 2017 season and is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coaches since 2018. During his first two seasons, he was coached six CSFL All-League players including 2018 First Team selection Carl Watson.
Prior to Caldwell, Mangan was the offensive coordinator at Columbia High School from 2015-2016, in which the Cougars qualified for the State Playoffs. Columbia produced one Division I player.
Before Columbia, Mangan was part of the Weequahic High School coaching staff as the offensive coordinator from 2013-2015. Mangan oversaw two Division I players and the NJ State Player of the Year (Sidney Gopre) in 2013.
Mangan was the head football coach at Barringer High School from 2010-12. In 2012, he guided them to the post season for the first time since 1986. His program produced six Division I players and a NFL Second Round pick in the 2018 draft.
Mangan earned his bachelor's degree in history from Kean in 2007 and is currently the Dean of Students at the Legacy Middle School Campus of the Great Oaks Legacy Charter School of Newark.
