Orange, Calif. (3/18/15) – Chapman University used a balanced scoring attack to push past the Kean University women's lacrosse team by the final of 15-7 on Wednesday evening.
Chapman improves to 4-3 while the Cougars fall to 0-3 this season, concluding their spring break trip out west.
Trailing 5-1 in the first half, the Cougars used free position goals from Brittany Ballack and Emily Stasuk (pictured left) and an unassisted goal from Jordan Blanda to close within one at 5-4. The Panthers responded to the Kean run and scored three straight before Ballack notched a last second goal before the break as Kean trailed 8-5 at the break.
The Cougars would get as close as 8-6 as Sam Gnapp registered the first goal of the second half, but Chapman surged for seven second-half tallies to pull away with the win.
Ballack finished with two goals and an assist while Blanda added two goals in the loss.
Kean returns to action on Saturday when they host Widener University at 1 p.m.
